Could Mayweather sentence actually help make Pacquiao fight?

The 90-day jail sentence handed out to Floyd Mayweather seems to have cold-watered the possibility we'll see him fight Manny Pacquiao anytime soon.

But could it ultimately bring the two together?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER: Fighter jailed after domestic dispute

It wasn't like Mayweather-Pacquiao was on anybody's immediate dance card. Other than negative words there seemed to be no words.

And with Mayweather's sentence beginning on Jan. 6 it would be hard to meet the May 5 date his promoters have reserved for a fight. That added to the fact that Mayweather will have to re-apply to the Nevada Athletic Commission for his boxing license.

But might a 34-year-old Mayweather spend part of his time in jail thinking about his legacy and the sand running out of the hour-glass?

Both boxers will go down as great fighters but the winner becomes part of the sport's history.

Are you more or less encouraged about the two fighting now?
