MANILA, Philippines – Legendary Mexican boxer Erik “El Terrible” Morales said he wants to get a fourth fight against the Philippines’ fighting congressman, Manny Pacquiao.
The 35-year-old Morales, who already had a trilogy fight against Pacquiao, said he would relish a fourth encounter with the Filipino boxing icon.
"It is my dream fight," Morales said in Examiner.com.
He, however, admitted that he still needs to earn the right to face Pacquiao again.
“Let's wait,” said Morales. “Let's motivate the fans first. Let's wait for people to say, 'we want a fourth fight between Morales and Pacquiao."
Morales, the only Mexican to win 4 titles in 4 weight classes, is the last man to have defeated Pacquiao.
In 2005, he defeated the Filipino by unanimous decision.
But Pacquiao came back with successive victories over Morales in 2006.
The Filipino earned a 10-round stoppage over Morales in their second bout.
Pacquiao then pulled off a more dominant win via third-round knockout in their third bout.
Morales said he would have wanted to fight Pacquiao’s nemesis, Juan Manuel Marquez.
He, however, said Marquez wanted no part of him.
"The only reason that fight has not been made is because he doesn't want it," Morales said.
